Teleties is an online store specializing in best-in-class hair accessories (hair ties, hair clips, headbands, etc.). They are dedicated to creating gear that doesn’t induce hair damage or headaches – and is also fashionable. With each purchase, they also donate to FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered) – a non-profit organization that fights to improve the lives of those affected by hereditary breast, ovarian and related cancers.

The Challenge
The existing Amazon and Shopify integrations with NetSuite powered by a middleware provider could not scale well along with the client’s rapid growth. The software did not utilize a dashboard or alert system and was prone to crash or fail to sync orders on higher volume days. This would lead to significant delays in order fulfillment and hours of order reconciliation time at month end. This provided a poor customer service experience and prevented management from focusing on growth.

Key Issues
The client had already enjoyed some success with their Amazon and Shopify integrations with NetSuite, powered by the middleware provider. However, they later found that the rigid pre-built connector severely hampered growth. This issue would be exacerbated by the expected surge of traffic related to the upcoming holiday season – something that the Teleties team didn’t believe they could manage.
Thus, the key issue could be summed up as the software’s inability to enable Teleties’ rapid expansion or, quite simply, the integration’s inflexibility.
At the same time, the Teleties team expressed a strong desire to remain as lean as possible. Their ideal outcome would be to have their integration upscaled, but without needing to attract IT talent to maintain it afterwards.

The Solution
The client aimed to upscale their Amazon/Shopify integration with the help of a more flexible Celigo, but had no prior experience and expertise with the tool. In a conversation with a Celigo representative, the client was referred to Hairball as one of the top integration experts.
In October 2022, our team had the first conversation with the client. They stressed that the upgrade would need to go live ASAP as they prepared for the Christmas period. In that, our team found the biggest challenge – although we deemed the upscaling process straight-forward, we still needed to be pitch perfect with it under very tight deadlines.
In November 2022, we rolled out the upgrade – and it was a success. The client reported barely any issues (which were immediately handled) and enjoyed a lucrative festive period, which made for further growth in 2023. The integration saved hundreds of hours reconciling orders and prevented the need to constantly be working with the software provider to implement fixes. This allowed the TELETIES team to focus on growth while drastically reducing financial reporting timelines.

The Results
Facilitated by this growth, our team has since also integrated Salesforce, Faire and TikTok Shop with Teleties’ NetSuite system. Salesforce and Faire went live in 2023, while TikTok Shop was integrated just this year – April 2024.
